If you have been referred to a specialist by your doctor you may receive an automatically generated letter from the NHS e-referral service asking you to contact the service if you do not receive an appointment within the next 10 weekdays (14 days) for urgent referrals and 40 weekdays (56 days) for routine referrals from when you saw your GP.

Please be assured that ULHT have received your referral and will be in contact as soon as possible.

The referrals from a GP are reviewed for clinical urgency and all patients are booked chronologically based upon the outcome of this review.
