The majority of our appointments are ten minutes' duration. We ask that you try to observe the "one appointment, one problem" ethos. We strive to deal with each medical problem to the highest standard and this proves to be impossible if we are asked to deal with a number of problems in one appointment slot. If you do have more than one problem, please ask for a double appointment.
Your appointment is for you only. Please do not ask the doctor to deal with the problems of a child or other relative in the same appointment slot. Please make a separate appointment for your child/relative if they need to be seen as well.
To see a doctor of your choice it is advisable to ring in advance. Routine appointments can be made up to 4 weeks ahead.
Where appropriate, urgent appointments will be offered with the Duty Doctor for that day.
Please give full details to the receptionist and she will contact the Duty Doctor accordingly. If for any reason you are unable to contact the surgery or Doctor and the emergency persists, please ring 999 without delay.
To speak to your Doctor or Nurse on the telephone please ring the surgery on the main surgery number and let the receptionist know you wish to speak with your Doctor or Nurse. The receptionist will let you know if the Doctor is available or whether they will call you back.
Please call in to the surgery or ring after 10.30am to enquire about your test results as our reception staff will have more time to deal with your request after this time. Note that the practice has a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection and we will only release test results to the person to whom they relate unless that person has given prior permission for the release of this data or they are not capable of understanding the results. When you take your test you will be told how long it will be before the results are returned to the practice. It is your responsibility to check your results and to make an appointment to discuss them with your doctor if your are advised to do so.
